Fading Light

by blackheartslove   Aug 2, 2007

Cuts across my side
Scratches on my wrists
Pills inside my pocket
Waiting for the moment

Orange and white and blue
Resting in my palm
A knife across my ribs
A crimson river rushing down

Jagged scars across my chest
Marking me forever
Deep cuts on my sides
Beautiful crimson stains

The water beats a steady rhythm
Slowly falling on my shoulders
A blade, razor sharp, rips across my skin
Blood mixing with the water falling at my feet

Sparkling water on my lips
Pills slide across my tongue
Here I sit waiting as the light begins to fade
Slowing as the darkness closes in around me

I lay back and close my eyes
And now it is finally over
No more pain and tears
Only the peacefulness of darkness—forever
