Obsession

I step up on the scale to see
Another 3 pounds dropped
My weary body screams for food,
But I will not give in

People tell me eat more food
Before you waste away
But I have eyes and I can see
That they are lying to me

This obsession that I carry--
I cannot let it go
This inner battle that I am waging--
It's slowly killing me
But I still can't let it go
