Typical chickens

I watch you think

in question

I watch you question

what you think

We wonder

for each other

never knowing

anything

Words are

never spoken

So we'll never

understand

We only wait

with quiet doubt

Never revealing

what's held within

There is so much

we want to say

So much we know

could be there

We wait for the other

to speak first

Just to not

be the first to share

Comfort is found

in knowing

But we are not able

to bet

With nothing left

to gamble

Nothing is what

you get.

So is this where

we'll remain?

A brick wall

between us two.

You'll be waiting

on me to speak.

And I'll be waiting

on you.
