Icy and Passionate

Release the darkness inside
thats slowly been brewing and boiling.
Can't you feel it when your next to me?
A living, breathing creature
thats more dangerous then you can guess
and can destroy not only you but me.

This creature is feed by the anger,
fear, greed, jealousy and rage
that brews just under the surface
and lashes out when people least expect it.

On the surface I'm bright and cheerful,
an angel of the day
that offers love and caring to anyone that I can,
I've been told more times than I can count
that I'm a beautiful woman inside and out
and that it's my heart of gold
that draws so many people to me,

But, I never let them see the darkness
and the less lovable side of me,
I'm possessive and get so jealous,
have troubles forgiving anyone,
there's a dark and icy side to my heart
that makes me seem cold at times.

I'm actually turning quite cynical
and losing the trusting spirit I had,
my rose colored glasses have been broken
and now I see things black, white and gray,
tell me this world is a happy, kind place
and I'll laugh right in your face.

I'm actually quite fine this way,
by being so icy I can't get hurt
because no one bothers to get close
in fear of the icy burn
but then I guess I have myself to blame
for my own self imposed loneliness.

How can a person be so icy
but so fiery and passionate also?
I guess thats just part of my charm,
the best of both worlds I guess =D
