No One Is Invincible

by Aline   Apr 27, 2004

Just because it is said to be safe
doesn't mean that it's true
or that it will ever be true
no matter where you go
sadly enough not even the school!
the school,
where I used to feel
so safe and so untouchable
isn't even a safe place to be
and really it hasn't been,
ever since that fateful attack
in Littleton, CO
at Columbine High School
lives were destroyed that day
and since that very day,
five years ago
I've been deathly afraid
that the same thing
would happen here,
in Manchester, NH
for I am a realistic person
and I know that we
are not invincible
or immune
to have a tragedy
like that
take place here,
in our so called city-
this is no city!
just a mere town,
we are more susceptible
to be put under fire
than a school in Boston, Philadelphia or Los Angeles
to name a few
they said the kid was arrested,
that there was only one
and he was not in school
but he was NOT the only ONE!
he was ONE of FIVE idiots
involved in making the threat
and plotting destruction to our lives
I prayed to God that everything would be fine and
we would not be
put on the map
for the rest of the world
to see because
some psycho kids
freaked out
and shot up the school
I hate the thought
that someone
wanted to take out their anger,
toward a select number of people,
on the entire school and
risk the lives of people
whom they don't know
and also
people who don't know them
nothing happened,
but that doesn't mean
it never will happen
so I will forever be on alert
and terrified that
I'm going to
meet my end
in this place
if it shall happen this way,
know one thing:
I LOVE YOU!
