Night

by Evelyn   Aug 14, 2007

Night, seducing you with his soft caress,
His lips touch your bare skin sending chills down your spin,
His music dances through the wind and reaches you ears like a seductive lullaby,
His black shadows frighten you only so you're swallowed into Night's deep arms,
He harvests on you haunting nightmares to make sweet dreams,
But as soon as you let him in,
The bright lights of morning arise.

Night, frightened and bewildered, retreats to his darkness,
He scowls upon the morning rays that touch your skin and rests in you hair,
He hisses in disgust as he sees the love in your glistening eyes as you wake to the morning's warmth.

His hate boils inside throughout the day,
Until he returns to you as . . .
Night, seducing you with his soft caress.
