The Girl With A Secret

You think you know this girl?
You couldn't be more wrong
The girl you thought you knew so well,
Wasn't this girl all along

She hides behind her smile,
Behind those big blue eyes
The years that you have shared with her,
Have been years filled up with lies

For this girl hides a secret,
And she doesn't like to share
This girl hides a secret
That is all too much to bare

She wants to let it out;
To let her secret soar
But she knows what they will think of her,
So she bites her tongue once more

Only this girl knows the secret,
And this way it will remain
Only this girl cried with tears of joy,
As she choked herself with pain

Only this girl knows the reason,
Why she couldn't finish the ride
Only this girl knows the terrible accident,
Was actually suicide.

    Usually I don't like poems that consist of self harm/suicide etc, but you held my interest all throughout this.

    I loved this.

    Despite being relatively short you managed to pack in so much depth and emtoion, the flow was flawless throughout the entire piece and the ending you chose held so much depth and power.

    WOW I love this poem it's got so much emotion in it you can really get the feel for it. It's really sad to know what secrets can do to people. You have a real knack for poems keep up the good work

    I LOVE this poem.....its sad to know that a girl had such a bad secret that she culdnt stand it anymore
