ALONE

I sit here alone,
unwanted, unknown.
Overwhelmed by distraught.
Lost without thought.
No hope to be found.
Pain and hurt surround.

I lie here abandoned
afraid and disheartened.
Terrified, petrified
Ignored and denied.
Bewildered, betrayed.
Lonely and afraid.

I cry here, confused.
Beaten, abused.
Wishing and waiting.
My heart is still aching.
Hoping and praying
these flashbacks stop playing.

This room, quiet and cold.
Until comfort finally enfolds.
The wind sings and soothes me,
while shadows keep me company.
