See me rising; Inspired by Last man standing

by Arun Khan   Sep 12, 2007

Don't look at me darling
listen to the words I have to say
I've been gently falling
and I've fought demons everyday
I hate what I've become
my heart has nowhere to go
I've lost and more than I've won
and I've been sitting here upon death row
rotting in a deceitful day and era
look at myself
and as failure comes nearer
my bones are weak
and I cannot walk without steady feet

And as the end game nears
I see me rising within loss and tears
the last man standing
playing cards a sinful fate is handing

I'm so restless
breathing hard
when I've wakened to be chest less
and I'm hurting night twists
without any scars
no razors but I still cut my wrists
walking on a bloodied road among speeding cars
I can't be the last man standing
not like this
so I take another life
contemplating in my discussion with my knife
and it's still alright
I'll be the last man standing tonight.

And as the end game nears
I see me rising within loss and tears
the last man standing
playing cards a sinful fate is handing

**Still a work in progress**
