The final act.

by Helene   Sep 15, 2007

This will be my ending scene,
But before I leave the stage,
You will get your great finale,
As I leave my pretty cage.
And my chains were always heavy,
But my burden, nonetheless,
And a slave for you, I would be,
As I worked my debt like this.

See the audience applauding,
Screaming for a final act,
And I was yours for entertaining,
In this dark deceiving pact,
This will be my last vendetta,
For the promise that you made me,
Like a doll I always nodded,
You would never set me free.

I am the clown and I am the lion,
I am your circus ballerina,
With your crown I see you laughing,
From your pedestal up high,
And the crowd is laughing with you,
Hope the show is worth their money,
I am your buying baby honey,
As you betray me, as you lie.

This will be my ending scene,
My prestige, my last vendetta,
You're humiliating me,
And my revenge will be this show,
So when everyone is watching,
And the drums are beating faster,
I shall smile and bow to honour you,
Then break my chains and go.

Yours
