Scars Are There To Remind Us

Sometimes people cut themselves
And I'm really not sure why,
They say they want to hurt,
So they can forget about what happened.

But how can they forget about it
When the scars never go away.
Upon the persons wrists,
Is where the scars will stay.

Scars are there to remind us
That the past really did happen,
So why would you cut yourself
If you just want to forget about it?

Cutting doesn't really help you,
Sometimes it can cause more pain,
You think you will get better,
But you're just left with shame.

    I really, really like the point of this poem, i never thought about it that way. everytime you look at your wrists, you would remember why you did it.

    Very true poem and written for a very good audience with valuable and imprtant advice. I loved the word choice and he rhyming is perfect.
