My dearest friend

We have been together now for awhile.
For the past few months you have made me smile.
We have had our fights, but most best friends do.
However, I'm still always here for you.

Sometimes I wanted you to go away.
Other times I wanted you to forever stay.
I don't really know what all I want.
However, when you're gone me is who your memories will haunt.

I can't seem to understand why I care for you so much.
When I'm upset it's your hand that I want to clutch.
I wish you could stay here with me and live.
However, I know it's not possible, so to you my heart I will give.

I hope you know how much you do mean to me.
I know now you being my best friend is meant to be.
I love you so much, more than you honestly think.
However, our time together will be over within a blink.
