I'm Sorry

by Simply Josh   Sep 25, 2007

It started off as a temptation,
Followed by ongoing years of lust.
I do not wish to be forgiven,
For it's definitely not a must.

Showing me your forgiveness,
Would not take away this sin.
I must learn to forgive myself,
Then I'll stop crying from within.

Night after night, my heart beat fast,
Filled with adrenaline and thrill.
Even though I knew that you knew,
I kept going at it still.

It became an addiction,
Which sent me on a high.
I just couldn't give it up,
No matter how hard I tried.

You thought it was a phase,
But I just kept going.
Even though I didn't see you as much,
I didn't feel like slowing.

Then one night I was caught,
And it all came to an end.
I didn't mean to make you cry,
I didn't mean to hurt anyone.

You kept what I did a secret,
Through many forgetful years.
And I've yet to truly say sorry,
For bringing you hardship and tears.

So now I'll say sorry,
For everything I've done.
I didn't mean to make you cry,
I didn't mean to hurt anyone.
