A DARK POEM

by Gary Jurechka   Sep 26, 2007

A pariah
of my own Parnassus

with
not enough faith in anything
to be a martyr for anything

death
is a lucid sleep, a waking enigma,
an anxiety attack into nothingness

sanity
is a delusion of the insane

dreams
are nothing more than
wistful alternatives never realized

and
something about daylight scares me

circa 1998-2000(?)
