Ring of One

by Stephanie   Oct 20, 2007

With this ring, here we stand,
Full of love, hand in hand
Began with fire in our eyes,
Passion in our hearts,
And you in my soul

You walked with me,
When I couldn't see
You held me,
When I cried a sea
You called to me,
When I wanted to run free
You loved me,
And made me who I wanted to be

You were my protector,
My knight in shining armor
At last I have found you
But you were always inside of me

With this ring, here I stand
With the one I truly love
Looking at you
I remember when,
To me,I wasn't beautiful back then
My looks were hate
Heaven forbid I'd ever get a date

But you...
Saw me right through
And loved me to death

Not for my looks
But for me
That's the way true love's supposed to be

With this ring here I stand
With all my family and friends
Who love me dearly
But not as much as you,
Now husband
And wife

I love this poem, the way you write, it makes the reader feel like they can relate to you, like we know you. I loved the entire second stanza, the pace and rhythm. Great job!
