Just Missed The Train.

Just Missed The Train.

Her hearts on the run,
pushing ahead the rest.
Burning off calories,
while beating the rest.
It knows the consequences,
what will come.
But, for some odd reason
it won't stop, it's not done.

It's fighting for it's right,
to continue beating.
And, searching for a life,
can't you hear it pleading?
It knows the consequences,
what will come.
But, for some odd reason
it won't stop, it's not done.

It just missed the train,
it stopped for a rest.
Burning off no calories
while losing to the rest.
Can't you see it bleeding,
deep inside, it's dying.
Can't you see it hurting,
deep inside, it's crying.

Slow and steady,
oh how true. . .
this heart just lost,
to an unfaithful you.
It just missed the train,
now left shattered and broken,
what a joke, what a joke;
a joke left unspoken.
