I am a poet
By heart & by mind.
I write what I feel,
What I see,
And what affects me
Or others.
I write
What is important to me
In my life.
Rhyming words,
Putting them together
Expressing a meaning,
Outside of the box we create
In our so called life.
I am sentimental
Who is addicted that pen or pencil
With a cause for everything.
I am a listener
An experimentalist,
A friend,
A sister to who cares
Who shall let me speak out for myself.
Yes, it might take me a while to show
My colors to the world.
However,
If you look closely
And observe what I do
And what I say,
You'll see for yourself,
That there's more to me
Than just what is visible
To your naked eye,
And what others say.
It might take time,
But if you're a true,
Or intend to be,
You'll be there for me
At all times.
These aren't just any typical friends;
no.
Those people are my best friends.
And of those,
I have very few.
And I thank all of you
For being there for me
When I've needed you most.
You all know who you are.
