Away

by Lance Hardy   Nov 14, 2007

A gentle breeze
Sways me back and forth
Leaves streaks in my hair
As it blows by
It takes me away
Off to a better place
Without night-time
Children laugh and play
All day, everyday
Without danger
Women walk alone
Safe and worriless
Without imagination
Who needs fantasy
When everything’s perfect
No need to look back
Everything from which I came
Has been left behind
All there is now, is silence
Nothing but quiet
All alone in a new place
So quiet
So alone

An old poem which I never submitted...free-verse.
