Life's Biggest Joke...

by oXoIESWYDEOPINoXo   Nov 16, 2007

Harmless little babies from the mothers love,
Once the child is born all the innocence is gone,
All these nameless faces and all this baby talk,
Maybe someday the world will learn to walk,

So many questions,
Somehow someone knows,
How could this have happened?
Our imperfection really shows,

Brought up in a contained environment,
Just trying to break away from the trail,
Don't let the outsiders in,
Humans are not perfect and we don't always fail,

Just a bunch of mindless souls,
They keep you in a box,
Try not to peak outside,
Or else we shall call the cops,

Lets give you antidepressants,
That should get your head straight,
Our society seems a bit sad,
Maybe all these lies just turn us into hate,

We shall send you a pretty little book,
On how the world was made,
All these whirling questions and all these crazy thoughts,
We asked the sky for freedom and this is what we got,

Education is a blessing,
Other wise you will be shunned,
A society based on worth and power trips,
Now all your dreaming days are none,

Turn your TV on and zone out the world,
What else is there to do?
Miles and miles of beautiful land,
Too bad its already used,

Your parents were your heroes,
The smartest people alive,
Then when you got older,
Your head is filled with cries,

All these unanswered questions,
All the bills you need to pay,
Why must life take what we have?
Then simply just throw us away,

They hand us information,
Then send us to the fire,
Take away your weapons,
Then hand you a lighter,

Teaching us right from wrong,
This is what we know,
Always did what we were told,
Are you really in control?

Put your shoes on my child,
Then go play outside,
A child's face so innocent,
Looks up and asks you "why?".

Um.. I like the concept, but you need to work on your rhyming, and your rhythm. Some parts are brilliant, but then there's a little quirk in there that just throws the reader off. Keep working at it, because you obviously have something to offer the world. =]
