Am I More Than You Bargained For Yet?

by MyEscape   Nov 26, 2007

There's ten beds in the room
Just like her very own
Filled with ten children
Waiting on a home

She's been there five years
Going on six
The people she stays with
Don't seem to stick

There's always a reason
She won't fit the bill
The void in their life
She just didn't fill

So when a young couple
Picked her up in their car
She didn't expect it
To get very far

But as the months passed
And the talk never came
Telling her life would go back
To being the same

She felt the need to ask
What kept the delay
How long would they let her
Think she could stay

Am I more than you
Bargained for yet?
When will you tell me
I'm not what you expect

The tears were falling
She didn't want to go
That was a feeling
She'd never known

They looked down at her
With love-filled eyes
And asked if she'd stay
For the rest of her life

She fell into their arms
And tears turned to laughs
Because she knew now
There was no going back

Very sweet, the flow was a little off in a couple of places, but I love the story, you got me at the start and I had to read the whole thing, very nice. Good emotion and depth. Good job.
