I Waited Today

by KelleyJo   Dec 28, 2007

I waited today just down the street,
You know that place, where we used to eat.
I talked to you just like you were there,
Until the pain was too much to bare.
I told you a joke and heard you laugh,
You know, you're always my better half.
I walked with you for as long as I could,
And saw our tree, with our names carved in the wood.
Then we went home where we had met years before,
But there was something missing, I needed more.
So we went to sleep, and tomorrow we'd find,
A whole nother day that I could call you mine.
But I awoke to see nothing was the same,
And I waited today, but you never came.
