The Road We Are On

Glosa Verse
Lyrics from Broken by Seether and Amy Lee
"The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There's so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain"

The Road We Are On

The time for changing things has passed me by
You know I would from the sorrow in my eyes
I gave us memories, that I'd rather be erased
I hope the future gives us better ones in their place.
For once, this room is slowing down its spin
I'm feeling so much better than I did then
Your forgiveness echos deep inside my soul
And I find it difficult to keep complete control
It's so hard to keep these feelings deep within
"The worst is over now and we can breathe again"

Being understood was one of my biggest fears
And the reason for this dreamer's fallen tears.
But the way you understand me, I don't worry.
And now that I see that, I'm in no hurry.
I've found a reason, quite a few, for me to stay.
It took me a while, but I reached that point today.
You helped me move on from things in my past
Don't tell me this is too good, or that it won't last.
I rarely feel so free, so let me feel this way today
"I wanna hold you high. You steal my pain away."

A billion questions are racing through my head
The answers so close, but so far from being said
Little x's on the calendar make me such a wreck
But are part of the reason, I keep my words in check.
And I remind myself the promises aren't held tight
Nothing can be sworn, or this wouldn't work out right.
Still, I find an inner hope, maybe I shouldn't have
But it keeps me going, so I won't give it back.
I know the time will come, but it's not tonight
"There's so much left to learn, and no one left to fight"

If nothing else comes of this, at least we stayed friends
And I'll take that, though it be a bittersweet end.
But if I do for you half the things you've done for me
I feel this could work out so very differently
We're on a two-way track inside a traveled train
Ridden by others whose feelings didn't always remain
And for those who made it, who jumped the track
Let's learn from them, and make up what we lack.
I want you to feel the way you made me feel again
"I wanna hold you high and steal your pain"
