The secret no one believed

by Dan Ryan   Jan 2, 2008

I can see your guilt has turned into shame
Your not the only one who must carry a name
I'm more than willing to take your abuse
So long as it's something you don't just excuse

The things you said felt like torture
I couldn't breathe, or think, only endure
Because I knew the secret no one would believe
I feel more for you than anyone could conceive

I pushed everything down and made it starve
I tried to keep silent but didn't have the nerve
Sometimes it's hard for me to admit I've lost
But I'm not forgetting you no matter the cost

There's so much I hope for in you that I can't reveal
But there's solace in knowing...I won't always conceal
And I'll never forget what we've survived together
Because I know it wasn't only because of each other

So I'm no longer afraid to be vulnerable
Of hiding from you I'm no longer able
And it's so unfair to have the key and no access
But please...don't worry, our journey isn't aimless

This is Jules...I thought I would read some of your stuff.

    My fav lines are -
I'm more than willing to take your abuse
So long as it's something you don't just excuse
    and
And it's so unfair to have the key and no access -

I really like the frustration you demonstrate here. It's truly heart-wrenching. And the way you write is easy to understand. It's a deep subject so that's usually hard to accomplish but you did it very well. Very talented. Keep it up. 5/5 for sure! :)
