I gaze into the mirror

by Krysten   Jan 3, 2008

I gaze into the mirror
searching for something i shall never find
the innocence of my youth
Ive long ago left behind

just an empty shell now
forgotten and thrown aside
always falling in to the distasteful full pattern
dreaming dreams of suicide

i gaze into the mirror
wanting to look away
i wish i didn't know this girl
wish she hadn't came to stay

shes wears her heart on her sleeve
tears always fill her eyes
she hates her self even more
each time she tells that lie

she covers up her scars
pretends its all okay
puts an a fake smile
and somehow makes it throughout each day

i shudder as i accept the fact
that girl in the mirror is me
that truly i am the one
on the brink of insanity

i gaze into that mirror
pure hatred in my heart
wishing i knew just when
my whole world feel apart

Awe. I like this poem. I go through this all the time. And lemmie tell you, I know the feeling sucks. :[ And in this poem, you've greatly captured the sorrow and depression within it. I liked your choice of words and the flow, again, was flawless. Another great write. 5/5.
