The Word Of The Lord (Sonnet)

The Word Of The Lord (Sonnet)
By Mark Spencer

I've tried to be strong, I've tried to be brave,
I lived on the edge, between life and death.
I have taken risks, and challenged the grave,
I fought to the end, until my last breath.

I've grappled with God, resisting belief,
In death I was born, returned from the light.
And learning the truth, I found my relief,
Which gave me the strength to take up the fight.

With truth in my mouth and God in my heart,
I dispatch the lies that I once believed.
They can't stand against what heaven imparts,
No more than the proud, whom Satan deceived.

The power of truth can vanquish the sword,
And none can defeat the word of the Lord.

HECK YAH!!!! I love it. "the enemy is being defeated and death couldn't hold you down. Were gonna lift our voice in victory, were gonna make your praises loud. Shot unto God with a voice of triumph"

    =))

Keep seeking your King. He has so much
    for you.

It's very rare to see teens talking about God in such a positive light, and i think its about time we did so. i really do believe in God, but i kno that i have lost my way. i pray that i find it again tho. but all in all, that was a good, inspirational poem, and i liked it!!!
