Behind The Clouds

by Dennis   Jan 17, 2008

On a cold winters night
The rain pouring down
The pale moonlight
Behind the clouds

She cries all alone
Gazing into the night
While thoughts of him
Race across her mind

She shakes her head
As tears stream down her face
And she asks herself
How did I make such a big mistake

To let him go
Disappear from her life
She called out his name
And then she began to cry

He stands all alone
And watches the world go by
And sees lightening
Strike in anger at the sky

He thinks about
All the dreams he had
And can't find one
That he wouldn't rather have

To hold her close
And take back that goodbye
And he asks himself
Why didn't I put up a fight

To let her go
Disappear from his life
He called out her name
And then he began to cry

On a cold winters night
The rain pouring down
The pale moonlight
Behind the clouds

Wow this is great hun! Reminiscing about past loves is something we all do from time to time, wondering what might have been if things had turned out differently. I love your poems, would like to try writing one with you some day =)

This poem is so beautiful. I can relate to it very strongly. It's like my relationship with my ex who I often think of at night. Keep posting them hun!
