A New Year; I'll Drink To That

It's a new year and everything is going to be great,
Forget about 2007, that is now a part of our past;
We've come a long way from this time last year-
You never realize how time is flying by, it goes so fast,

No holding grudges, for some organization is the key;
2008 will be the year that holds the secrets to success,
New born children and families reunited after so long...
Old flames re-lit, finding strength to get back on track

A new president, our government will get a new look,
Many surprises to come, solders coming home from war
So Happy New Year, it's going to be a great year;
I will drink to that, tell me will you drink to that?

Wounds will be healed along with some broken hearts...
Time for the tears to stop falling for good, no more pain
All of these changes and more are soon to come;
It's finally a new year, goodbye 2007 hello 2008.

    Aw, that's really nice, very inspirational! :) Different then most poems i've read, i really enjoyed reading it though! it made me feel good in some sort of way...2007 is now my past, so i must move forward! :)

    Hmmm ive never read a poem liike this before. i usually read about love, friendship, and suicide!!! but deffinitly a great write!!!!

    A very nice write. The title was very alluring. and the poem was very eye catching from start to finish. :] I really liked the poem as a whole, I can't even pick a favorite stanza! lol. The way you worded this piece, as well, made the poem all the more great! an amazing write! 5/5.

    Loved it!
    The title really captured my attention and I was curious to read more. I loved the hope and optimism you expressed here, it was real refreshing to read. I was inspired by you words of encouragemnt to forget `07 and embrace `08.

    I know `08 is going to be amazing because I'm graduating this year and oh my gosh prom is almost here. Wow time does fly by.
