A Stained Glass Masterpiece

by GoyaCracker   Jan 22, 2008

I watch the world through these windows.

They let me see,
Without being seen.

I hide behind these windows;
Never looking through the windows of ohters.
The thought of what I might find there
Is terrifying.

People tell me my windows are beautiful.
Tinted green and brown.
A stained glass masterpiece.

But they will never know what lies behind them...

The secrets.
The tears.
The pain.
The lies.

If they looked through my windows,
Rather than just at them,
They'd see that they are more than just pretty glass.
They hold so many stories
Behind their shining surface.

But I close the blinds
When people try to look inside.
I'm not ready for people to see my truths.
To see my secrets.
To see my tears.
To see my pain.
To see the dying soul that lies within.
