Christmas Wish

by Gee McC   Jan 22, 2008

Santa wanted to know what I wanted this year
What would make me happy and dry every tear?
He wanted to know what I'd treasure forever
Maybe a toy, a doll or a puzzle to put together

Everything I ever wished for when I was small
Is all so inferior and would take nothing at all
This year I want something I actually need
I would kill for it, I would beg and I would plead

I had it once upon a time but I let it break in two
It cut me as I shattered the love between me and you
So this year I asked Santa to bring you back to me
Back to earth, back home, so you could finally see

You are the stutter in my speech, the beat in my heart
Heavens is so untouchable, we are too far apart
This Christmas I want you to hold me under the mistletoe
I want you to promise this time you won't let me go

I still love you, I still miss you and I need you so much
When it gets cold and so lonely I ache for your touch
But it doesn't matter if I'm good, or if I'm on his list
Even Santa isn't that magical. I'll never get my Christmas wish

Up untill the last stanza this piece was very good alot of emotion but I do feal you could have ended it better especially that last line some slight changes and this could be a real impact poem.
