I Just Don't Understand

Do you know how much it hurts,
To see someone you love destroy their life?

Do you know that it not only affects them,
But everyone around them as well?

All my life you have done it
And I just can't understand why

How does doing this to yourself benefit you?
Have you ever thought about stopping?

These are the questions that run through my mind
Every time I see someone do something harmful to themselves.

Emotional, physical
Whatever it may be.

One day soon
I hope to see you on the right path again.

And one day soon
Can you please explain to my why you do what you do.

Cuz I just don't understand.
