The Deep Wound

by A Phoenyx in Flight   Jan 25, 2008

The wound you left behind is too great.
I cant take it much longer.
The blade next to me is looking very friendly.
It would be friendlier then you.

You pushed me away.
Now I'm shivering in the cold.
The wound in my heart is too great to hold.
Now that I'm out of your life will you care.
If i invite this blade to my heart.

The wound you left behind is too deep.
I could fall into it and die.
Oops to late.

I think this poem was pretty good. You put a more imagery into this one rather than picturing a scene I was picture an emotion too if that makes sense. I liked your use of a small rhyme with the words "cold" and "hold" like I said I'm a sucker for a good rhyme. The stanzas were all different in length, but I liked the idea and emotion behind the poem. 4/5
