Marionettes, puppets, and manikins galore

by Alicja B   Jan 31, 2008

Hollow feelings and fake smiles;
Nothing counts for anything
In a world of untruthful lies.

Hidden horizons and political scams;
Money trades hands like a skank with a band.

Everyone's delusional
And think they've got it right...
When the truth is real simple;
It's just hidden in the night.

I'll make it clear so you can see
What our world has come to be:
A hundred effing prototypes;
No one wants to disagree.

A trace of what it used to be;
Our world's deteriorating.
We're all afraid to be ourselves
In fear of the mask fading.

We hide behind this crutch so vile;
On the outside we need perfection.
Everyone is doing it,
We might as well...for our protection.
