Cupid

by Letty   Feb 1, 2008

I've played the stupid game of love,
Many, many times before.
And each time I thought I'd win,
But cupid proved me wrong.

I placed my heart out in the opening,
For all men predators to see.
Who knew cupid was a jester;
And he'd shoot his arrow at me.

My beliefs back then was based on him,
Giving a lonely, loveless, innocent person a chance.
But just like in the world of gambling,
I have no luck when it comes to romance.

Whoa it's me! I have exclaimed before;
On one of my dark and dreary days.
Please cupid just let me be,
Because love drains my strength away!

    Broken hearts stink but this poem is proof that they make for good writing

    He's a cynical, heartless, chubby little fcuk in my opinion too! Although, a broken heart may rival even love with regards to poetic inspiration... to me, pain flows easier than Joy. Very nice Letty
