Sky high

by Edward Elric   Feb 5, 2008

Hide your wings all day long
Don't ever let them out
And if the pain's too much
Be careful not to shout

I know it hurts
But no one will understand
Not even your family
You're not what they planned

But at night it's safe
To relax my wings
To forget about tomorrow
And all that it brings

I know it hurts
But only you can know
That you can fly sky high
While you're down below

I let the night take me away
And for once I try
To jump from the roof
Spread my wings and fly

This poem is an exellent peice presenting ones private world, or so I understand it. All day long you are not yourself, you're something special that nobody unserstands. At night you finally can enjoy your own world and fly high. This poem's meaning is unique, as I didn't see many poems that relate to this topic. The flow here was amazing, so were the structure and rhyming. The choosing of words couldn't be better. Excellent job, keep it up 5/5
