Hiding

by StandStill   Feb 6, 2008

I hide from you my true insides
behind a mask that changes with the tides
behind my mask of lies i hide
without a smile, or any pride
the me you used to know,
she died, long ago
and now you can never understand
why i refuse to take your hand
for you must be dead inside
if ever you truly hide

    Yep.
Masks are hard to keep intact though.
    Sometimes they chip.

So true....and in life it's tragic when people hide who they are..not physically tragic-simply emotionally. wonderful poem, a definite 5/5
