maybe its because they don't feel like they have been treated right by there parents so they want to treat there own kid how they want to be treated, i would never to some of the stuff my parents have done to me to my kid (if i had one)!!!
if you don't have the perfect life but you knew that you could make a little babies life perfect would you do it? if you didnt care about the consequences? i think the answer would be yes!!

Cute? Not all babies are cute, just like not all people are handsome/beautiful. I don’t understand this want to say that babies are all so cute, its rubbish, they are just little ppl. Besides in general young animals are way more appealing to look at in my opinion, not to mention less likely to puke all over you and make that horrible, grating, annoying "Waah waah!" sound. Girls who coo over babies anoy me. Women are given freedom of speach and the right to work and still there are a select few who choose to degrade themselves by acting like twats whenever anyone under four enters a room. Its pathetic.

I personally think that teens want babies bc they dont feel loved by anyone and they know that if they have a baby that they can always feel the love there bc no matter what there is always a connection between a mother and a daughter. especially since the baby is young it will need a lot of attention which will fill the gap that was there before. I think they just want to feel needed and loved.

i don't know either! i went to a high school with the highest pregnancy rate in the western half of this country...and in my valley. (california) and i still don't know why! i mean..u know it's bad when u can skip school to take ur kid to the hospital....ouch..sorry shouldn't of said that..considering i know alot of teen mothers....all well...cant hurt to tell the truth!

i dont know if anyone said this above, (i didnt read the posts) but i think the most reason why teens want babies is for 1. responsibility, they want something to take care of, and something that can depend on them and 2. love and attention, most teens dont get the attention they need from their parents, friends, etc. so they go out and have a baby that will need, want, love and depend on them! and thats the real answer! (in my opinion anyways) (sorry if someone posted it above)

Well I think you don't know until you have had a baby or you know someone who has had one as a teen. And not all teens want them either.
A baby can change your whole life and depending on the person, it can be a good change or a bad one.
I have 11 weeks to go until i give birth anywho, and I know I didn't want a baby in the first place, but i'm not keen on abortions. All I know is i'm going to love my baby. I don't care if i wanted a baby or not but seeing i'm going to have one i'm going to try hard.

Wanting to have a baby just because it's cute shows that you aren't ready to have one.

You should want a baby(s) because you want to love them and grow a family and dedicate yourself to them. And starting a family should start AT LEAST when you're 18. =\

I will try argue from a dif perspective-
Considering we can have kids from like 12+ who are we to say we arent ready untill we are 18. I dont want chilldren because I have no intrest in babies but I could have them if I wanted to. We may all be human but we are first and foremost alive. Created to multiply like any other animal on the earth. We can avoid this, choose other routes in life but at the end of the day if you can have kids as youg as twelve it must be because you are phisicaly able enough to look after them...whether mentaly keen enough however...your probably better of waiting untill you are older.

whether you are able to have a baby or not, doesnt mean that you are ready, i could have had a baby from the age of 10, doesnt mean i was ready. right now im 15, i can have one, but doesnt mean im ready. the teens that are out there haveing babies, most of them arent ready, they are still young themselves, and still have their needs as a teen, let alone trying to raise a baby as well. lots of responsibility, and if you are mature, have a job, can afford taking care of you and your babys' needs without having to depend on anyone, then THAT'S when your ready.

Just a side note: When I said you should wait till 18, I didn't mean you can't love your child until you're 18 years old. I meant it would be better to finish schooling, that way you could care for it better. If you have a kid while you're still in school, I'm sure it's a lot of pressure on the mother.

A lot of girls have babies because one of their friends did....so they go out and get pregnant because it's "cool" to be an uneducated and unemployed mom. You didn't know that? Where have you been!?! HAHA

some teens feel pressured. They are uneducated and unloved. so feel they need to shag someone to feel loved and wanted. Therefore they get pregnant and keep getting pregnant because it is the only way they know how.

Teens also might want a baby because they feel so unloved themselves, and have nothing to love or care for. so they want a baby to love and so they can feel wanted and needed by this little innocent kid.

Health 8th grade year got everyone thinking of why having a baby is good. (well in our school) Our teacher told us everything from STD's and the four ways you can get them. And also the protection you can use to keep from getting pregnancy. We had this project where everyone in the class has to do to pass. It's like an assessment. We had to take care of an artificial baby and choose what to do with it. (not really, since my teacher chose for us)

And how you mainly have 4 choices:

1. Have the baby and get married
2. Have the baby and stay single
3. Have the baby and put it up for adoption
4. Have an abortion

We all stayed single, and have a baby. We have to hold the baby the right way or it will cry. Don't drop the baby or its a letter grade off everytime it happens. Don't go to sleep (especially the 2nd night) because you're going to miss the baby's crying. And hope, HOPE that you get a good grade. Well.. I was a good dad =D I got like.. 1 missed cry. lol. I hated that project. Everyone did. Now we all don't want a baby.

I dun want kids. Well.. Not till i'm older lol. Like.. In my 20s atleast. I just can't stand the thought of having stitches down there :S Does everyone have to have those? I bet that's annoying.. Itchy : |

look. I'm a teen and I want a baby. I love kids and I know they are a lot of work. (I've got a 9 month old sister) For now I'm only going to have her. But childeren are important to me. I want kids someday, but for now I've got to get in school, travling and life. but if I had kids now I wouldn't mind it. I love kids. I really want one.

Look. I know how hard it is to raise a baby. like I said above, I have a 9-month-old sister who I've practically (sorry for spelling) raised. I feed her, I wash her, I dress her, I play with her. It's hard work and I'm tired at the end of the day but seeing her take her first step or hearing her first word be "Ariel", makes it 100% worth it. Plus. In my family we've only had cute babies with LOTS of beautiful hair. (Not to brag...)
so people please stop saying that teens want kids but don't know how much work they are. Some teens do know. and some teens make that decision (again spelling) knowing.

im 14 n i want a baby but i wouldnt be able to support it n i want my baby to have the best life. but if i had the money, a bf who loved me, n my family support than i would have a baby right now. but for all yall who r saying why do teens need babies...there too young. if u think about it, in the old days 12 yr olds were gettin married n havin kids. n ppl might think teens arent old enough, but age doesnt matter....your maturity level matters. so i do support all the teens out there that have babies n all yall that dont think teens should....then yall just gotta see it in there point of view. later.

im a teen and i would love to have a kid someday. my anut had a baby, and came up to NJ and stayed with my grand parents well i got to take care of her baby, and i loved it, holding her and just having to take care of her, seein her fall alseep, and stuff, she was so cute!!! i just i loved takin care of her for the whole day. she was so tiny, and small. she is just so so cute, and her tiny little hands.. i dont know, i just love babys so much, and thats why i want a kid.

It has been known that some female teens actually get pregnant on purpose, either because of the thought of being a mother or in order to keep the guy around/raise the relationship to the next level.
but, as to why motherhood sounds so appealing...
Growing up, we're always told by our mothers the joy that we brought to their lives the second we entered this world and were taken home to begin a family. And seeing new mothers bringing home babies and the happiness that surrounds them, they think, "this is something I could do".
Most of the time the girl isn't going through the best time in her life, and thinks that by having a child she would be able to pull it together. Pretty much all summed up, they think it's like playing house. In other words, they're foolish.
These girls aren't putting into perspective what their lives are going to be like, that a lot of the time depression results from motherhood when it isn't handled properly, that they're no where near ready or grown up enough to raise a child, and how the child will be effected growing up with a teen mother. They're selfish, foolish, and just overall stupid.

i just think that somethings arnt necessary.. i thought it was a bit of a stupid question when most of these people dont even know why teenagers want babies since most havent even had any children, so the true answer is that they do not know properly. As I already have i child i feel that this was a stupid question and as said above, im here to express my opions, so if gayskys and you do not understand my expressions, please do not question me.
