I don't know if this will cause controversy with the super-christians or any other fanatics, but i'm Buddhist and believe in a place called Nirvana. I've studied other religions but Buddhism is the only religion that makes sense to me.

Everyone is entitled to think what they want but I don't think I could get through some days without my firm believe that God knows what is going to happen before it actually does, that Jesus died for us and definitely yes, in Heaven and Hell...each to their own, but not a doubt in my mind!!! Thanks for posting such a controversial topic..takes guts! :) Luv Michelle

I too strongly believe In Jesus. I was blessed with many miracles in my life. I believe in Jesus and I believe in Bible. I have also read 'Bhagavat gita' of hindu's and random parts from some vedas. I have heard a little of 'Quran' from muslim priests. Basically everything has the same fundaments. Just God is called in different names and the beliefs are followed in different ways.

For a glass with some water, you can look at it in two ways. You can say it is half filled and you can say it is half empty.

I meant by that there are contradicting things and similar things in all religion. I just looked into the good part. MP, I didn't say i belive in their gods or something. I said their thoughts are also good. Unless you read those you can't criticise anybody. Quran and Bhagavat gita does convey the message of love. But there are contradicting things also. THere is nothing wrong in agreeing to something good. IF their are contradicting things..ignore those. I believe in jesus. Nothing can turn my belief in him. BUt i do respect other religions. IF you were born for a hindu or muslim parent, may be you would have followed the same. So its your luck that you are a follower of jesus. We have learned God is one. Some called him abba, some call him masiha.. what matters if they call him allah, or rama or something? Just because they were ignorant of jesus, eternal life won't be forbidden for them. One who knows the reality and then if they ignore, they will loose eternal salvation. Not the ignorant people.

OK, This is not a site for such a discussion. Just ignore me..if you don't agree.. I am sorry if i hurt your thoughts in any way.

Well Kia, my answer to that would be..that's what faith is..not being able to see or touch but believing that he's there..and the bible tells us so and I believe that. God knows what will happen before we do but he also gave us free will to make our own decisions so it's the people that mess up lives, not God. I often wonder too, why things have to be as they are sometimes, but I firmly believe that it's not God, it's us....just my 2 cents! :)

yea, faith, what a word. you have to have something to base faith on. i dont have ne thing. How do we know that the bible is true. It could be jus a made up book, and it could be filled with lies. how do you know? Yea ppl mess up our lives, but he could intervine, i know 3 ppl that died young that didnt need to die, they could have been saved easliy, but he let them die. They left behind so many ppl that loved them and that hurt them one left behind three young kids (8,4,and 2) and one other left behind a two year old daughter, she was shot right infront of her daughter. She didnt desverve to die, she did nothing wrong. and tim, why did he have to die, those three kids are gonna grow up now without their dad. i jus dont understand why this happens

I believe as well. In God, Jesus, the Bible as the ultimate source of truth. And that Jesus died for us and trusting in Him as my Savior is the only way to get to heaven...and yes, I believe in a real, literal heaven and hell. No, it's not a nice thought that people will go to hell, but God is just and unbelievers will be punished, harsh...but true. And that (not accepting Christ as your savior) will be the ONLY thing that sentences one to hell... not bad deeds, nor suicide. Ok, sermon over, LOL... I love talking about my faith so feel free to email me if you want to talk more...

I DON'T!!! I have many reasons why I don't.. If there was a so called God. The why does he let so many bad things happen to people. Why does he let so many people live in pain.. Make there lives a living hell!!

I don't get it.. if there is a God I hate him!! and never want to meet him.. he sits wherever he is and watches my life go to shit! and everyone elses.. and does nothing about it..

NO I don't believe.. and never will!

I'm sorry you feel that way, Manders. I do understand how you feel. Even as a believer, there are sometimes I wonder why people have to go through stuff. But God is not the one that "makes their lives a living hell". People have a free will... sometimes choices they make are what leads to bad things happening. But that's not always true.
The ultimate answer is: Bad things happen because there is sin in the world. It is Satan's fault. He was the first one to sin...and he passed it on to Adam and Eve... and just like you may get your blue eyes from your mom... all humans got a sin nature from Adam. And God doesn't just "sit wherever and watch". He is everywhere...and His spirit lives in the hearts of all believers. I truly believe that part of America's problems today come because Christians quit taking a stand for their beliefs, we got lazy, and embarrassed to keep this country godly... non-believers won't bring revival to this country.... it is up to the believers to share what they believe, and let God touch the hearts of the non-believers.

I really don't care what religion people follow. As long as thier faith helps them for the better and guide them to a path of good, i say let them believe in whatever they choose. Religion is suppose to unify people and help them for the better, not to cause controvery and blah.

I Feel Really Strongly About Religeon. I Do Believe In God And Jesus And I Love Them Very Much For Giving Me Life And Creating This World We Live In Today Yes We Have Faults And Its Not The Greatest Environment But Its Only Because Of The People Who Turn Their Back On God Which Isnt Right They Should Rejoice Him And Thank Him Because He Saves And He Gave Us What We Have Because He Blesses Us All. I Also Believe In The Bible And Follow Its Teaching The Best I Can No Im Not Perfect And I Dont Always Do The Right Thing But God Is An Important Person In My Life And I Love Him With All My Heart And Im Not Afraid To Stand Up And Say It! Because I Am A Good Christian And Believe Strongly In My Religeon. And God Has Always Been There For Me Throughout Some Of My Hardest Times.

Our perception of time is very different to a God.
We live on this planet for approx 80 years, and throughout this time, we complain about our circumstances, our mishaps, and we are happy when things go well for us. What we don’t understand is the concept of time. If you take a grain of sand, from the desert and put it on a table.. That is how much time we will spend as carnal beings.. Now take the rest of the pieces of sand in this desert, and place them in a straight line..long?? Well eternal life is longer. Eternal=forever. If you compare forever with 80 years you will see that this is nothing. This is simply the birth stage of eternal life.. Of course it’s difficult. You are still being born into a celestial being. Some die in this birth (sinners) and some go on to live forever.

Ps: If I were a Christian, that’s what I would say.

I would belive in "god" if he gave me a reason to belive in him, but right now my life is so screwed up, and it seems like whenever i trust in him the most the more messed up my life gets, im jus gonna say fuck it i dont care ne more, you aint here for me, so why should i care.

  • Kia

Yea, that's what he says and did you read at the bottom he said if he was a christain he would say that so he must not believe. Im jus sayin im waitin for the bad things to turn out good, i have looked for the best, but everywhere in my life im surrounded my nevagitvity. you say trust in god everything will be fine. but its not!!!, when i trusted him the most, when i gave him my life, where i was with him and gave him my all, i lost to many ppl that i loved, my family fell apart. and im tired of it, if that;s what i get for deovting my life to the "awsome god" then i dont want to ne more. I refused to go though ne more pain. there is no comfort in him

  • Kia

Im not complaining that i have had a hard life, and all, well sort of but not for pity, what im sayin is that ppl say that god is there for you. ppl say that he will never leave you, well i dont believe that, they way that my life has gone hasnt proven a god there's jus isnt ne thing. so i dont believe

I agree, buddhism is the only religion that actually makes logical sense in my head.
i think people should have the choice to follow whatever they want, but when religion causes war, it begins to put me off.

  • Noir

"but when religion causes war, it begins to put me off."

I would think Buddhism would put you off now, seeing as the Sinhala Buddhist monks have become fundamentalists and have destroyed three hindu temples...In Srilanka...Declaring war on Hindus...

I think all true religions are naturally peaceful, but the people that use it or should I say the people in control use it as a form of "Branding" saying this religion is the best. And if you join us you will get this or this....

Finding sprituality in religion is a good thing...Remember that.

Ok...My religion is Conducting the musician...Beat that

  • Noir

    Actually no...

The conductor is merely a director of musical ensembles...

Conducting earlier form was cheironomy which uses hand gestures to indicate musical shape.

I researched it...So if the conductor is a director and the musicians are his actors and actresses...Then my religion beats your religion, because directing trumps acting...

    Beat that...Lol.

'I would think Buddhism would put you off now, seeing as the Sinhala Buddhist monks have become fundamentalists and have destroyed three hindu temples...In Srilanka...Declaring war on Hindus...'

Classical statement. You obviously do not know your history. If you do a bit of reading up you will find that religion especially Christianity is one of the main causes of war *gasp*. Oh and don't get me started on the Salem Witch Trials. What was it? Nearly 1 million woman and girls burned at the stake, drowned, walked or tortured to death in the 1600's? All because the Bible said they were witches and 'Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live'. My favourite tale. Oh and I'm not religious by the way I don't like believing in a really old book that has been translated so many times half of it mumbo jumbo and makes no sense.

I have to agree with every thing "mnemonicspark" said....I believe others can have their own beliefs but for me I believe and follow everything in the bible. I do believe Jesus was the son of God and I do believe also that is the only way to heaven. I have seen miracles within my church and have felt the Holy spirit inside me. People say thats a crock of crap...dont give me that until you've tried it..Until you've accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour you'll never know what it feels like...so I've felt him...I've seen prayers answered in my family, I've had my own prayers answered.
The bible says to put God first and we will get all the desires of your heart. I have always put God first even at this young age and I've been blessed tremendously. I know I can't convert anyone or change anyones minds..you have to find what works for you as my sister says, but if anything I wish I could make some people believe in a God...
And if I hear one more time "you can't proove theres God..where is he? We can't see him"

You believe in wind and you can't see it, but you do see the wind blow
You believe in that downtown building thats standing their but I'm sure you've never seen the building.
You don't have to see something to believe that its there....its just...there
