Is there anyone here who is atheist?

well i'm atheist. and i want to know if any one else is on here and what their beliefs are.

I'm pretty much Atheist because I don't believe in a lot of that crap.

But then, I'm not totally sure about some things, unless I have proof, so you can also label me Agnostic...

So kinda both.
But I'm deffinitly not a believer for sure.

I'm agnostic. I am skeptical about God and religion, but I'm not really sure one way or the other.

The irony is or at least it is an irony is that you have to believe to disbelieve.

I'm an atheist, and I'm proud. lol. Anyways, I just don't believe in anything and whatnot. Just seems illogical or however it's spelled.

I'll have to find the author of this quote but it is- "To call atheism a religion- is to call bald a hair color" I'll post later the authors name in due time- it lurks in memory because of it rings truth. I'm agnostic- because I don't know- and I'm brave enough to admitt I don't know- but to debate over religion holds little if any purpose- because the evidence or a lack thereof- theres no solid proof- but believe what you believe and hold fast to them-just make sure they stem from your heart and mind- not years of what your parents told you to be true.

I believe humans are a species of animal. nothing more nothing less. What makes us different is our brain; our intelligence. With these great brains we have developed technology....and also philosophy. Humans want to believe that there is more to do with our world and our exsistance that meets the eye. This is why we created God. God has to do with everything we can't explain and we dont think of the fact that there may not be an explination for everything. Were born, we live, then we die; thats it. Theres not much more to the world and we should learn to except it. How are we the only animals with religion? Because our only our brains are complex enough to make it up. That is why I'm an atheist. However I find religion to be a very good thing. If people have that much passion and faith in a religion and their lives are better because of it, so be it. Let them believe.

We believe that there is no god, and that does not require a belief in a god because that would be as stupid as christianity.

Christianity isn't stupid. I don't think it's fair to say that. I don't agree with organized religion, but I do think Christianity is, in moderation, a good thing for people. It works in a unity to create hope and faith, and for that, it's not stupid. Granted, you get some idiots that have given it a bad name over the years, but devout Christians only wish to do good. What's so stupid about that?

Talanador: I understand that you dislike the religion of Christianity and the hypocrisy as you said it teaches.

But let us not forget, that it is really offensive and deragatory to those who believe in the religion. I ask that you please refrain from insulting other's beliefs.

I'm definately aethiest, i hate the concept of god, christianity, christ and all that other stuff.
I hate these things yet i do not and shall not critisise you or your god, because i believe everyone is entitled to believe what they want.

i was athiest, but now im leaning more towards agnostic. i think there's something else out there, a reason behind things... like karma or something. idk. but theres a balance in the universe, i just dont know what to beleive exactly. anyone else feel that way?

I don't think God matters, it's like God people only behave because they think the big guy is watching them and all their actions are being recorded...and not because the right thing is the right thing for humans beings.

I suppose we should be good because the Aliens might be watching.

Well, here's a new concept..

Whatever you believe in, is your religion. So, if you believe in, say, feeding yourself when you are hungry, crossing the street on a red light when you think you can get away with it.. you believe in it, it is your religion.

Um, I know that I'll probably get some nasty answers on that, but it seems kinda right to me.

So, I am a vegetarian, because I believe that it is cruel to kill animals just for food. If they must die, there must be a higher purpose than a steak.

And I believe in God. I know that the assortment of churches that exist today have made it so confusing that most people give up on Christianity all together. As it is, I don't go to church, simply because I haven't found a church that I liked and understood.

So no, I'm not an atheist. I believe in Life.

I'm agnostic. I don't believe in Christianity, I know that for sure. But I do believe in a "higher power" type of thing.

Pretty much I'm just confused...

I'm used to be atheist but now I think I'm veering more towards agnostic. It's already been mentioned but I think that alot of religion is made up because it makes people feel safe and comforted when they believe there is something else out there. It's not for me but whether it's real or not, if it makes them feel better than it's fine.

it was fun...really need to find better churches though...
the church from my highschool years is still pretty cool, very active in the community and the like, rather liberal too...
I think I'm more agnostic, though I can't say I really believe in god or a higher power, sometimes I force myself to so not to get too full of myself...
I believe in karma...not past lives, just in the fact that in this life, everything you do comes back upon you...3 fold for the normal shit...10 fold for the freaky shit

I myself is a Christian but my friend is an atheist.

She doesn't really believe in anything, she says she just think were here to live, and to die.

And earth came from the Big Bang, and we come from apes.

She believes more in science and stuff..

Anyone want to explain your reasons for being an Atheist? Out of Interest.

I'm not atheist but I am agnostic. And I'm agnostic becuase I don't believe in God, but I do believe there is some higher power, or force that controls things. I don't believe in God becuase to me the idea that there is only on kind of higher power seems extermly unrealistic. Plus some stuff I've heard like "If you pray, good things will happen", and "God makes everything happen for a reason" it just seems really stupid. And I don't understand it becuase I don't believe that God makes people get Cancer, and Lukemia, or brain tumors for a reason. Or what kind of reason would there be for that? To make people suffer like that?
