Is there a Hell and Heaven?

You would need to have some sort of religious faith to believe. I believe I didn't exist before conception and won't exist after my death.

For me when I was struggling with depression it was what keep me going. While I wasn't feeling happy with life at least it was something. Not existing in itself is hell. Nothingness in itself

I do believe there is a heaven. I don't like to think there is a hell, but in the bible it does say.

I don't know if I believe there is a heaven as much as I like to tell myself it's there. I tend to deal better with death by thinking they are in a better place..

As for hell, no. I don't even see the point in believing in that.

    yes both =]

Hell--- is when your going through tough times and at the moment can't seem to put things together.

Heaven--- is when everything feels ok in life, not perfect cause no one is, everyone has faults, but also where God lives

    idk my opionion lol

It doesn't necessarily control people, Angelina. And doing good things are not what's gonna get you into heaven. That's an old, religious concept. The only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ, but He doesn't force you to accept it. The choice is 100% yours.

Sluvious--according to Dante's Hell, people who never heard of Christ are sent to Limbo, which is around the gates of hell. Their only punishment in hell is that they never get to see God.

Which also sucks for the newborn babies, who never got baptized and supposedly are born with the original sin. They're taken to Limbo, too.

But that's Dante's version of hell, which I find fascinating because according to him, we'd ALLLLLLLLLLLLL be going to hell and God would be a very, VERY lonely person lol.

So who knows if there's a Heaven or a Hell. I like the hope that the faith in a better afterlife brings. It gives me an insentive to carry on sometimes.

Several religions talk of a heaven and hell - but not all of them believe in Jesus...so Jesus cannot be the only way to get to heaven, if there even is a heaven.

Personally, I'm not sure what I believe. I guess, as someone already said, I like to tell myself heaven exists, more than I actually believe it. Maybe heaven and hell are on earth. I don't know.

I definitely believe in hell on earth, not so much in Heaven. I think we are all recycled like plastic bags, we live, die, and come back in a new package.

I agree somewhat with you Angelina and I this Slurvious has another quite logical point.

Being gay Im off to hell to burn anyway....... sure beats being jammed up in heaven with all the ned flanders types.

One thing that pisses me off is I don't believe and if I'm right I don't get the chance to tell all the christians "I told you so" , and if there right... Im gonna look silly lol

i no this might sound completley stupid but i think that if there was other life in space and we found each other. if the other life new about one of our religions i would probley start to believe that religion. but i dont think there is a heven and hell
but if theres nothing what will it matter, we will never no if there was anything after because we wont be in any place to think
but i think theres something but nothing that has been described before, something we cant amagin

might sound a bit weird because it was quite hard to describe

In response to Bob's question to me:

Jesus says in the New Testament to go "and preach the news of the Gospel". It is our job as Christians to let others know about him. That's why we have the Bible to guide us and the Holy Spirit to lead us. There are a couple more verses in the Bible that relate to this, I could find them for you if you like. Just let me know.

Well, I guess there are some things that we just can't know, or aren't supposed to, in life. There are questions that we just can't answer, no matter how hard we try. But I guess you alreayd knew that. Honestly, if I were one of those people who never heard about Jesus and died today, I wouldn't be mad at God. I would be mad at those people who were commissioned to "tell the world" yet didn't.

I wasn't arguing about it either, or whatever. I'm just stating what I know, or am learning :)

yes there is a hell for those who did not follow the god instructions and heaven for those who follow it. i advise you to look for more answers by different ways.

There are a lot of things about Jesus that we don't know, or misinterpret. And again there are a lot of things that are well known yet people over look them for convienience, The best bet I think is to research that stuff yourself from ligitimate historical resources. Like the Bible (only one I can think of right now). Not novels like the Da Vinci Code which can be misleading. I'll be learning all about this stuff next year when I go to college.

it may just be my being a christian, or maybe not, but yes i do think there is a heaven and a hell. and that only people who have a commitment in christ go to heaven, but if you werent old enough to make that decision (for instance, a baby or child), i think you would still go to heaven, because you dont have the power to make up your mind on such powerful things.

and i agree with the above, there are a whole lot of misinterpretations. plus, if you have a religion it really makes for what you believe

everyone commits sins, its just a matter of who has commited theirselves to Christ and has a personal relationship with him. No one is perfect except for Jesus, so therefore no one can NOT sin. (as you can see I am a Christian so this is what I believe)

  • Chelsey

.........now you made the statement that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ?.....Do you think that's right, and if so, do you think that's fair

^^^I know you weren't talking to me Sluvy, pardon me for being nosey, but I have to answer...I too believe that since I am Christian and it clearly states that you have to believe in Jesus to get to heaven, but honestly I don't think its fair....and thats what I can't wait to ask the Lord when I die because of what you sound...Thousands have never heard of the name and what happens to them? I question that too....

I do believe in Heaven and Hell. You cna't believe in one without the other. If there's a good there always is a bad. I believe in God and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I believe we are put on this earth as a test. And if we live our life as a good person I do believe we will be rewarded.

i dont kno cuz there is peple who die and come back sayin that they heard gods voice and tellin them its not their time yet and my grandpa died june 29 and he said a year exactly before he died that he seen his guardian angel and he described how bright and beautiful she was and when she spoke she told him that his cup was almost overfilled and not to be afraid she would be there....and he had lung cancer and he died w/a smile on his face...and no they didnt give him any kind of drugs like weed or w/e to help him with the pain he suffered and felt pain till the last dying breath yet he smiled so i think there is a god but he doesnt stop bad things from happening because its a test and we all have our own free will to decide...im soundin like a hypocrite cuz i dont go to church any more and this weekend i talked to a true christian and she explained things to where i understood

"You think of the bible as historical text? Do you have any idea how many flaws it contains? Wrong dates, made-up stories... It's all a big fairy tale. Sure, there's some historical accuracy, but not enough to call it a "historical resource." "

^Maybe 'historical text' wasn't the right description.. maybe relevent is more it. I meant that it's more than likely the only book to give you the correct description of Jesus's life.

  • ashley
