Sin?

I got a question some people say that being gay is a different sin than lieing well in my opion a sin is a sin no matter what it is and every night when you go to sleep to ask God to forgive you and so when you are asleep you are not sinning so everyday you sin and every night you ask God to forgive you well if God can forgive somebody for killing someone why can't he forgive someone for being gay,Lesbian,trans,bi,ETC

Gay people don't need to be forgiven because they've done nothing wrong. Well they might've done something wrong but their SEXUALITY is not a sin.

Why should my friend ask forgiveness because he is gay? No matter what love is love!

Im gay and im a christian and my god doesn't believe in homosexuality, so does that make it a sin for me?!? i sure hope not, my friends tease me for it, saying im a gay god girl. Hmm, is it also not a sin, it doesn't say it is a sin in my 10 commandments but he is against it....

Totally agreed. i mean, ive also heard "love the sinner, hate the sin". at the end of the day, someone who told a white lie will get the same judgement as a murderer. thats just how God works. he loves everyone. though he may not agree with your choice to go down a certain path, he still loves you.

but definitely, its not OUR position to judge people.

I think that if you ask God to truly forgive you then you have to be willing to stop doing whatever it is you are asking forgivness for. Of coarse he will forgive you. He has forgiven me. I am a previous lez myself. I thought more of it at the time then it really was. It was more like a phaze for me. But honestly two people of the same sex are not made to be together in that way. Women have their horamonal issues and immagine twice the hormones at once. That is too much for anyone to bear. Guys also have a period too so it is similar. theirs is just without the cramps. And gay guys, the only difference between them and a normal guy is that they are more honest. Most guys have their pride and are too proud to admitt to a lot of things. Like girls can compliment eachother and that is real common. But if a guys walks up to another guy and notices the way their hair looks is nice, they are automatically stereotyped as gay. This is only because guys are just like that. period. The ones that arent turn gay so they can find more people like themselves. But it doesnt have to be for that reason. I have many friends that are gay honestly. about 4 guys, and almost all my friends that are girls have claimed to have feelings for the opposite sex. By that they just find them attractive. But whether they would get any pleasure from touching them is another story. If you think of it one way, you could just be admiring Gods creation and not be scared to admitt other male/female look hot, you will set a trend of someone sort. Trust me you wouldnt be the only one. You can make anything a trend. Even being a certain orientation. All of this means nothing because either way you would still find men attractive as well. So if you really believe in God you will get over it after some time and realize it was a phaze and help others who will be in the same place you are.

No one decides to be gay - we are who we are. Just like anyone else.

I find many of these posts on this thread (certainly not all, and I thank open minded people for that) oppressive and I wish someone would lock this up and stop asking what everyone's opinion of gay people is. It's insulting to me, and I'm sure, others.

Homosexuality is not a sin, it is not WRONG, otherwise why would people be it without choice? (don't bring up insane people or murderers or people abused to the point of insanity along with what I said) Excluding people who optionally choose to date the same sex because of past experiences, but really, we live in a modern world. It doesn't matter if men and men or women and women aren't able to make a baby together, because we don't live a thousand years ago. We've adapted to the current times, which means adoption, sperm banks, etc. Today is supposed to be about not judging someone before you know them, letting them have their life and live it, and freedom to be who you are. Just because you love somebody of the same sex doesn't CORRUPT any form of baby making, abortions do that more than homosexuals. You don't need to pray to God for forgiveness for being homosexual, when a. it's not a sin. what is so wrong about loving somebody who shares the same genetalia? People who will abuse you for this have obviously been grown up in a homosexual hating environment and are hateful people, there is nothing WRONG with being homosexual. and b. God didn't write the Bible, so wherever [if] people have got the idea that it said being homosexual was a sin, surely praying to God for forgiveness won't do anything, when he's not the one who said there was something wrong with it.

Like someone said up there, I think people were just born gay. If God didnt want gay people, then there wouldnt be. Yea it says in the Bible and the Quran and many other holy books that its forbidden BUT when do people actually go by The Book? I mean come on now, be real!

So once the homosexuals are married then they're just fine to do whatever they want and have sex? that's hardly the point. HOMOSEXUALITY is not a sin, and SEX before marriage isn't either, I find that being a sin pathetic and immature.
It may apply to the horny 13-18 year olds but anybody with a brain must realise sticking it in before a few words are said doesn't really make much difference.

How does one choose to be born gay? Most of the homosexuals I know did not choose. Yes there are those who turn to it out of life experiences but the majority have known since a very young age that they were homosexual. Even the medical community and some churches are coming to the realization that it is not a choice.

I know this is not always the case but all the girls i know that are attracted to other girls ALL had a negative relationship with a guy at a younger age. a couple came to look at one of my horses tonight and we both women, divorced with kids and had obviously been deeply hurt. I dont know anyone who has just always been attracted to the same sex. like society has it as being normal now so I just think people can easily be molded at a young age by their surroundings, everyones different but studies show it's based alot on childhood upbringing. i'm sure most of you dont agree with me which is fine, im just throwing my oppinion in cause thats just who I am ;) and I have NOTHING against people who are gay but there is no such thing as being BIsexual and if there is than the stereotyped BIsexual has gone severly down the drain. I was just at a party where girls where just screwing around with each other because they were bored....people really confuse me.

There is such a thing as being bisexual. why do you think it is a THING? Because people are it. How could we discover it without people actually being it? just because you don't know them personally does not mean they are gay without choice. Do you think people would optionally be abused as they walk across the street, or sometimes be beaten to death because of their sexuality? i mean COMMON SENSE, watch something as simple as Brokeback Mountain. They lived in a rough time which meant they had to hide it and have FAMILIES beneath it all, it wasn't OPTIONAL. Yes a large amount of so called lesbians came out the other side being with girls because of bad relationships, that doesn't mean there aren't genuine lesbians out there. Some get a rough time because of their sexuality and that's by choice? I don't think so.

^You don't know if he does or not, priests trying to persuade you to think that you're forgiven for all your sins whether they're horrible and horrific or not, well that's a load of. God will deal with you and he'll know how when you die, other than that you just have to wait for a few funny bits of karma to happen to them when they ARE alive. You don't need to pray to God for forgiveness for being gay though.

Ok, I was raised a christian and born into a family that doesn't agree with it but I see nothing wrong with two people who love eachother being together whither their the same sex or not ^.^ I think that some people choose that path though and some, yes, are born with a tendency towards having feeling towards the same sex but they do choose to follow those tendency's ^.^ It's not a path that I'd take but you should love a person and see them for who they are not what sex they have feelings for =) It's just the same as people who hold it against a person for having a different skin color or talking different or who's minds doesn't work the same, loving someone of the same sex isn't a sin or crime in the least and maybe we as a people need to stop looking at what's wrong with the people around us and start looking at what's wrong with ourselfs and fixing problems within ourselfs before condemning others for having the same problems as ourselfs ^.^

Theres nothing to be forgiven for...they did nothing wrong, they were born that way and theres nothing that they can do about it.

I'm not saying that they need to be forgiven according to what I believe. I'm saying that if you claim to be a Christian, and you believe that Jesus will forgive any sin, then you should see that being gay isn't bad if you ask for forgiveness. That's all.

^^ depends on what you believe ..the bible says over and over it is a sin only because IN THE BEGINING GOD CREATED MAN AND WOMAN....people bash Christians all the time because we believe being gay is a sin but its only because the bible says God made man for woman and woman for man to enlarge his kingdom with babies......

However, God DOES NOT dislike gays..it says numerous times in the bible God loves ALL HIS people...He doesn't dislike a gays sin anymore then he does those who drink, get tattoos, or have sex before marriage, or anything else it tells us not to in the bible.

I back the bible 100%% just because I was raised that way (and I'm willing to be called whatever but thats my faith I hope you all can respect that)...but I have tons of gay friends and it doesn't bother me and I have not one thing wrong with them. THey are people, but do I still think they are sinning? Yes, but thats what it says in MY religion and if that angers people so be it.

Some people are born with a natural attraction towards the same sex. They probably realized at a young age they were not attracted to the opposite sex.

Some people have bad experiences (abuse, rape), bad relationships, which make them decide they no longer want a relationship with the opposite sex.
