Death Gave Me Back My life

by Glenn G   Nov 10, 2014

I'm all alone and in a state of peace.
It's quiet until I hear the sound of a roaring engine.
I get up and look out my window and see a truck rounding a curve just over the hill.
Everything it passes seems to disappear as though the truck scooped it up like cargo.
It's coming my way and has to pass my house.
For some reason I am not afraid even though the barrenness that is left looks lonely.
Its just a few feet from my house and already I can feel the movement of it's momentum.
As it takes me away from all I have known and all I have found comfort in.
It carries me to a place of beauty.
It's as though everything that had become barren suddenly reappeared and somehow perfected itself into something much greater and beautiful than before.
An understanding comes over me like a peace I have never known
Life gave me up to death and death gave me back my life.
