10 Thousand Miles Far; But One Phone Call Away

by ABake   Aug 2, 2008

Some friends come and go, but others are here forever...
They may live 10 minutes away, others 10 thousand miles.
Listening to your problems is what they love to do,
But making you smile everyday is what they are best at;
Talking about Kayla's dead hermit crab, oh poor Hermy--
Or our Sonic Girl forgetting the banana in a banana split...

We share an undying love for salads, even at 2 in the morning,
For Taylor and I, it's a thing for those irresistible Asian guys.
Learning to love ourselves and laughing at our faults--
We share a deep bond, one we may never understand.
One day I will find my magic carpet and we will be united--
Getting Subway and eating our French fries without ketchup.

We are one phone call or text message away; Anytime.
Day or night-- Monday through Sunday-- 24 hours a day.
I love them all and they are and will always be true friends.

[ Kinda sucks guys. Lol :] I love you all. Karyssa, Kayla, and my kitty Tay ]

[The opening was fantastic. A little twist. It was just great. Makes the reader want to move forward. Kayla kayla...lol, blonde as blonde can get. I mean, come'on who forgets the main ingredient in a meal or what ever?! Lol! Poor Hermy is right, I heard...he came out of the toilet. hehe. The ending was great to, the word choice and flow was good in this stanza. It stands out. I love your way of writing.]

[Salads all the way. WOOT WOOT. I like the opening in this stanza too, :) because it had everything to do with me. Sike, [NO IT'S TRUE, that's why I like it] ugh..Yeah. Lol [slaps myself in the forehead] Magic carpet, ooooh yeah. Amber, you did WONDERFUL on this stanza, Most of my poems rhyme. As a matter a fact, all of them do. Lol, but you taught me, a poem doesn't have to rhyme. Because this is very poetic. And heartfelt. :)]

[Same goes for you Amber, if you ever need me. And, you'll always be my best friend. I LOVE YOU DUDE! Nice ending. It related to the first sentence in the first stanza.]
