Pieces of a poet's mind

by Michael D Nalley   Nov 1, 2010

Art trapped in a restless mind
Before the pen meets the sheet
Remembering ties that bind,
Lost loves, dreams that are so sweet

Rhyme and rhythm of hearts heard
In harmony with my soul
There are never enough words
For making this poet whole

Old reasonings seem like news
Lines cannot be repeated
With proverbs or mystic views,
Or the purpose is defeated

  • You have conveyed a poet's intent/purpose perfectly. The flow and rhyme was absolutely flawless. Definitely one to add to the favourites list. Well done. (:

I loved how you made the striking comparison between "art trapped in a restless mind" to "unwritten poetry". Very delicate lines that conveyed simplicity- the ingenious flow, I have missed reading your work, it always hits home for me. Thanks for sharing valued thoughts from your mind, keep writing always more.

Very nice work Michael. It flowed nicely and and captured, I think what it is to write. Very well done.

I like the fact that you didnt have to write much to describe the inner workings of a poets mind. sometimes its just a complex simplicity. very well done.
