Because of You.

by Courageous Dreamer   Jun 30, 2011

You stung me, spewing
tigers from bloated fishes
with mouths of peppers.

Fruit rotted to black,
littered amidst my dreamscape -
all with your presence.

Surrealism -
carved from my innocent mind,
tangled confusion.

This picture was completely entrancing. I've seen the work of this artist before in textbooks and paintings, and what I feel from this one is vivid life, the chaos that surrounds the colors.

    "You stung me, spewing
    tigers from bloated fishes
    with mouths of peppers."

I like the "bite" of this...the realness that is freshly awakened here....and the abstraction.

    "Fruit rotted to black,
    littered amidst my dreamscape -
    all with your presence."

The use of "dreamscape" is so well crafted here....I feel its connection with the picture, yet some distant insight you are carving in. As if this presence has given cold weather to the world, darkening its one bright flames.

    "Surrealism -
    carved from my innocent mind,
    tangled confusion."

Great word that speaks out- carves.

I love the conclusion- that nothing is firmly settled, all you know is the essence of being caught in confusion.

Beautifully written with creative being all over.

I absolutely love the first set here, I love the bloated fish and "spewing". I think if people saw the picture you wrote this from they would definitely be able to understand it a little better :)

This was my favorite of all those you wrote for this round of challenges, I thought it was interesting and gave a strong, vivid image. It paired well with those of the picture but also gave a bit of creativity in the poetry aspect as well. I loved it!
