In Any Other Situation

by Someone Invisible   Dec 18, 2016

It's cool, it's good, because
you in every other situation can walk away.

Your parents are getting into fights every night
and you can walk away,
at least to another room or even outside.

Or your sibling pi sses you off and its okay,
because in the long run you can just slam their door
as you storm out of their room after bi tching each other out.

Or even with your best friend, you know the one,
who you told everything to since you were little,
and...and she goes behind your back
and messes with the guy you've liked for the past year.

In the end, thats not so bad because
you can just take a different way to class
and block her number.

Of course there's the disappointment of your boyfriend, right
when he lies to you or cheats, or better yet
lie to you about cheating on you.

And g0dDA MN it's still not as hard.

Because the nasty, cruel truth about it is...
you cant walk away, or block a number,
or slam a door and take a walk outside;
not this time. Not...

Not when it's yourself when you need to escape.

An angry sort of prose/poetry piece that hits the mark well, not least because of the inherent truth: You can run away from the world but if you try running from yourself, you'll get very tired and have little success.

Well written and all the best,

    Ben
