THE SNAKE

THE SNAKE

Lowly he goes effortlessly on his belly, not on any toes. He is sly, the Bible tells us why, he can mesmerize you with his stare, you will not even realize that he is there.
A flick of his forked tongue and he can taste you there in the Sun, he knows if you are too big to eat or just a treat.

We have many varieties of snakes here, our common Black Indigo is not one to fear, they do however have a bad temper, don’t get too close or they will give you a bite on the ear.
Be careful when you open a bare cupboard, a hiss will give you a scare and let you know who’s there, so curious beware!

I watch those big black Indigo’s with a white spot under their chin, they have become quite friendly but I won’t let them in as they may surprise the wife when she puts clothes in the laundry bin.

Some of our dangerous snakes are the Coral Snake, Pine Rattlesnake, and the Cottonmouth, this is the price we pay for living in the Deep South.
