Everything Reminds Me Of You

by CânnâBîsh   Nov 13, 2017

I see you everywhere..
Everything reminds me of you..
It's almost impossible to rid the thought of yourself..

The wind whispers my name
like it's you calling out to me..

The river of my tears has flowed to long,
I'm drowning in my worst fear.

Of you being taken from me, again..
Against your will.

The devil has taken over,
we have both been through hell..

Yet, the birds still sing,
and the days still go on..
Wondering why this road
is taking so long..

The starry skies remind me of
the first night we met.
Early in the morning
Kind of close to sunset..

Which reminds me of your smile,
can't tell you how much I miss you,
how you make my life worth while.

The storms remind me of the arguments
we use to have..
But now were both sitting here wishing
we could go back.
Just to see each other again,
start new and refreshed.

Like after a long rain
on a hot summer day.
You still give me butterflies,
when I see your face.

I see you everywhere..
Everything reminds me of you..
It's almost impossible to rid the thought of yourself..

When you're all I ever think about,
I just want you out..
out here with me ,
back under the stars,
maybe even out at sea.

Instead I'm sitting here reminiscing,
on all the happy times we had.
Trying to focus on the positive times,
instead of all the bad.

But I swear I see you everywhere..
Your coming from the trees,
I can almost hear you in the shadows,
And when I'm praying on my knees.

Or it could be I miss you a lot,
Try to keep it together
so I don't lose my spot,
in your heart.

Because you are my shooting star,
you are my wish come true.

It’s crazy how the smallest, everyday things remind us of those we love most, esp when distanced. It’s almost impossible to think of much else. I really enjoyed this piece, sad but lovely Work.

Yearning and love is expressed so beautifully here. Enjoyed the partial rhyming too. I felt this!
