Don't judge a book......

by deeplydesturbed   Dec 5, 2017

Falling through the cracks of life
Blissfully unaware of strife
Stabbed in the back by knife after knife
Never settling with husband nor wife

Fighting battles day by day
Every moment a play by play
As if watching a baseless broadway
Colours fade to a monotone grey

So much to say yet words don’t come
Drinking until the mind is numb
Starting with wine, ending with rum
Falling hard, landing on old gum

Stumbling to a safe place to sleep
Hiding among a smelly trash heap
No longer able to hear car horns beep
Stranger’s words have cut too deep

Thank you for the constant remind
That I am far from being socially refined
Is it really that hard for you to be kind
I’m not sure how I got into this bind

Constantly on the lookout for my next meal
Sorry for me, don’t you dare feel
My situation may not be ideal
but I’m better off than those sleeping on steel

Whether the temperature hot or cold
Whether the person young or old
Forget everything you’ve been told
We could all use help to cross the threshold

Oh my goodness. My body has just erupted in chills and I still can't shake them. Your rhyming and flow is just phenomenal, Nams! I could feel my heart matching the rhythm line by line and taking in every word of the content being spoken of. This is incredible writing, and deserves that nomination! Excellent job, hon, and as always, I am sending so much love and good vibes your way! Take care!

So pleased this has been nominated because it speaks volumes to many of us.. we all have our own story so why should we judge others on theirs?? Well said.

    All the best
