What’s in a name

by Yakari Gabriel   Feb 11, 2018

I remember the first time you asked about my father, of all the insecurity I felt answering the question. No one had cared enough to ask before you. It caught me off guard. I felt my decency shatter.

My parents are cheaters, but I am not a secret. I have his eyes, his hair, his last name and his way with words. I have no good stories to tell you. I've never felt like I could show my parents off. Their love broke some other woman. Maybe their love was not love at all..

When you're an affair kid you don't get to make demands. You don't have any rights. You're as good as an undocumented worker. Life is hard labor for cheap pay.

I never liked asking for things
I know that I have no rights
I want to ask you to love me,
I just don't know how

the night before I got on the plane
you said you couldn't figure me out
that my pieces don't make a whole puzzle
but you accept it, you accept me

...I just don't know how
I want to ask you to love me
I know that I have no rights
I never liked asking for things

It doesn't matter how you were conceived. Many people spend thousands of pounds and cannot have children. So when a child is born he or she is a miracle..

You were born into this world to be the beautiful person that you are. I'm sorry that you have been made to feel that you are somehow less important than other children that is entirely wrong.
We all have different back grounds, some have one parent, some have none, some are in unhappy families, others happy, Some are beaten and never have a childhood, other live on the streets never knowing their parents living on food they find in bins never having known love at all.

Where you come from is just the start of your journey what you do with your life is up to you. Its your destiny you make it what you want it to be because you are a miracle and this is your life, your choices.
All my best wishes Milly x

Always remember that you did nothing wrong you are beautiful. You have every right to ask and hopefully one day you get what you are asking for. You do deserve the best. Hugs to you
