Throw Away The Key

by Bleu   Mar 21, 2018

Another tiring argument,
tear stained pillow and a long lonely night.
Just another reason,
It is time to give up the fight.

Because your words they cut like daggers
Leaving my heart to bleed.
My self image, it is shattered.
Just throw away the key.

You tell me she meant nothing,
how dare I keep bringing up the past.
My heart, must be hurting,
because I am unsure how this could last.

My world revolved around you.
You were the shining star.
But, now I drown your memory
as I close down this hole in the wall bar.

"Throw away the key,
leave your clothes on the floor.
She truly meant nothing,
Baby, she was just some woman from before."

But, your lips tasted hers,
they rested upon her skin.
I can never go back to bed
with a cheating man.

Well said. The past is never easy to forget and in some instances, it shouldn't be.

Take care and all the best,
